About club " Grey Owl "

Today mass media have a very big value in formation of ecological culture of the population, including children and teenagers,. In many aspects the ecological behaviour of children is formed under influence of the read newspapers, the heard broadcasts, the seen teleprograms. Children aim to active action after this impressions from the received information. Quite often they aim to realize the programs through MASS-MEDIA.
Association of young eko-reviewers " the Grey Owl " was founded in the Centre of children's technical creativity of Pereslavl - Zalessky. It was founded for unite of the creative guys inclined to active ecological propagation. This Association present since December, 1997, the age of participants from 3 up to 11 classes.
The basic forms of work - reports in MASS-MEDIA of ecological actions of pupils of city and the publication of the creative materials.Children get the individual and group tasks - to write a notice, to take an interview.
To our pleasure since in November, 1997 the independent children's newspaper " Little girls and boys " was founded by Pereslavl fund " Compatriots" with assistance of a department of culture and youth of administration. On pages of newspapers we publish references to people, results of social polls on environmental problems, announcements of ecological competitions and actions.
We conduct the ekobracket in a city radio program. And now pereslavl people listen ekonews from schools on Thursdays, acquaint with the international ecological and Russian national calendar.
In the spring and in the summer we worked together with the other groups of city in the project of the British council " We shall Study ecology of the small rivers and lakes ". We analysed a condition of disappearing water objects of city.
The basic forms of work ekoreviewers is publications of verses, stories, photos, pictures of a nature, animals, participation in creative ecological competitions, creation of scripts for a puppet theater, questioning of the population. We try to coordinate ecological movement at schools of city, to use opportunities of MASS-MEDIA and telecommunications.
We take part in distance quizes and the Olympiads, spent by the Yaroslavl Centre of ecological education with a big enthusiasm . With the great pleasure we have taken part in competitions of the First regional children's ecological festival. In 2000 we have taken part in the project " the Earth - 2000: an image of a planet ". We have received the Certificate of participants of the project and have reflected, what we can make useful to achievement of our overall aim.
And, certainly, we traditionally participate in the International week in protection of animals, we collect signatures in protection of animals, we draw posters, we show performances, we care about animals. These actions unite us, pull together.
We hope, that our friends in other countries have the same actions and activities. All of us together want to protect our planet and our nature. We think, adults will not begin to be at enmity if children, youth of a planet will be friends and will understand each other
